When our first children take their first steps, it seems like a miracle.
Maybe it is but it is not unusual.
Walking is innate like breathing or talking or hungering.
We’ve been doing it for 6 million years.
Walking is having a minute among writers and in the lab. It:
Spurs creativity
Enhances mood
Helps keep us lean
Improves coordination
Boosts the immune system
Increases Longevity
Reduces arthritis
Lowers blood pressure
Etc etc…
It’s great that research is piling up about how wonderful walking is and the love from fine writers is splendid.
But maybe we’re missing a point that is simpler and more fundamental than elegantly designed double blind studies or meta-analyses.
We’re bipeds. We walk.
This is a road I enjoy walking.
Here’s some links about walking.
