Very simply put across, and very doable to slowly phase all the factors into one's life. I was happy to score a point on all 9. Sometimes I beat myself up for not working out 5 times a eek, for not walking 10000 steps daily - but your post was a reminder to not get so harsh on myself.. Thanks for this one..
Hi Manish. Thank you for the kinds words. I appreciate it.
And agreed. Beating ourselves up creates two problems. First, it is a recipe for frustration and misery and second, it often leads to not sticking with it.
I'd love to write or see a book about using the Apple Watch to measure your activities.
For example, if you're 82 and have a 40 resting heart rate and controlled blood pressure, what heart rate should you target and maintain to increase and maintain your fitness as you age?
When walking, I get my pulse up to 80, 90 or 100. When on my rowing machine, a Concept 2, I get the beats per minute up to 125 to 135.
Let me see if I can find some stuff online that might assist. Granted - you must be able to look around and see that you are in a high percentile rank for many of these.
Nice post. I'm pushing 82 with stage 4 chronic kidney disease. I get points for all but the high intensity training, which I avoid because I've injured myself a few times over doing it. Just finished my 37 min. daily walk and probably will get on the rowing machine for 20 minutes.
When you fall off the wagon, catch yourself and climb back on. A scale and a blood pressure monitor might help keep you on the straight and narrow. It helps to have a spouse who loves to cook what you can eat.
I spend most of my days trading stocks and options and blogging about trading when I'm not playing bridge or reading blogs, books and the news.
Grateful to be vertical and feeling very lucky.
You know you're doing pretty well when you've survived your share of screwups.

DeJohnette, Hart, Andrew Cyrille: their playing could be almost 'muscle memory' at this point
But Charles Lloyd, Wadada Leo Smith are STILL killing it!
Ok. Gonna listen to The Emerald Duets today! (or Two Centuries w/ Qasim Naqvi)

I've read several books and articles on aging, wellness and exercise. No one has addressed my interest so far.
Well, I am still vertical. :)
